Appraisal Letter

Appraisal letter is the letter which confirms the increment or hike in the current salary and or designation of the employee done by employer. It’s a document showing appraising value of something. Appraisal process is followed by preparation of report and then estimating of its value. The Various Appraisal approaches are interrelated and it involves gathering and analyzing specific pieces of information. An effective integration depends on appraiser’s skill, experience and judgment.

Generally in terms of salary, Letter of Appraisal is to be offered every time when there is increment in the salary. The increment is based on the policy of the company, and so is the issuing of the Letter of Appraisal. It should mention the latest salary package and structure that company is setting. The signature as a token of acceptance is needed from individual employee. One copy should remain with company, while other is handed over to employee.

This Letter of Appraisal can be accompanied with the Letter of Promotion if promotion was also done along with appraisal in salary or else it can be issued as a separate letter. The letter should mention the term of performance evaluation, date from which the new payroll structure will be executed and the table of the new payroll structure.
