What is an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeship is the period of training for aspiring individuals who wish to master the skills for a particular profession. According to the job profile, the required skills may differ, such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, coding, teaching, etc.

Some industries that commonly provide apprenticeships are health care, law, commercial enterprise, media, and publishing. Such as a person working as an assistant to a doctor. He performs the primary duties and observes while the doctor operates, this is an apprenticeship in healthcare.

Apprenticeship training is conducted to improve the skills in two aspects: basic components required for the job and the on-job training to understand the work aspects of the employee.

This is mandatory for establishments with a workforce of above 40 employees. Whereas the establishments with 6-40 employees are given optional trainings, and the establishments below 5 employees are not allowed to give apprentices.
