Semi Skilled

A semi-skilled worker performs routine tasks that require limited judgment and skill, following established procedures and guidelines set by others. This role involves completing tasks efficiently and effectively, with minimal decision-making required.

Skilled

A skilled employee can work effectively, make key decisions, and carry out their obligations responsibly. They must have a complete understanding of the trade, craft, or industry in which they work.

Highly Skilled

A highly skilled and capable worker has efficient qualifications and work experience for the job. They get higher wage rates as compared to all others.

Wage Category Zones

The minimum wage in Chhattisgarh is divided into different categories that are based on three zones:

  • Zone A – Encompasses several key cities, including Durg, Bhilai, Birgaon, Raipur, and Bhilai-Charoda. It also includes other regions that are covered within a 16-kilometer radius of the given municipal corporation boundary. It also includes all industrial zones and growth hubs. It also covers the factories having 300 or more employees.
  • Zone B – Includes the Municipal Corporations of Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur, Ambikapur, Chirmiri, Korba, Raigarh, Jagdalpur, and Dhamtari, and regions within an 8-kilometer radius of the Municipal Corporation boundaries.
  • Zone C – Encompasses all remaining territories outside Zones A and B.

As per the new update on the minimum wage in Chhattisgarh, the following are the current wages. As per the Minimum Wages Act, these are applicable from 1st April 2025, and the notification was on 27th March 2025.
